The 4 C's: Cut — Color — Clarity — Carat Weight

The next 4 C's: Cost — Cash — Check — Charge

The other C's

Compromise — Almost everyone makes some kind of compromise in either cut, color, clarity or carat weight.

Certificate — Any important diamond should be accompanied by a:

There are a plethora of other "certificates", but these two are the best.

Communication — You can call and talk to me, I am not a machine.

Competency — Over 40 years in the diamond and jewelry business.

Courtesy — I won't treat you like a number.

Comfort — I feel that you must be comfortable with your purchase; and I believe that with a personal meeting that your comfort level will be met.

Confidence — I will find you the best stone for the right price.

I am here on the internet, not to sell you a diamond, but to introduce myself to you. Remember that I have your best interests at heart. I am competitively priced with other internet dealers but do not put lists up because availability changes daily.

Because this is a lifetime purchase, you should not rush and buy by a "certificate" alone. There is more to a diamond than you can discern from a "certificate".

Another word about cut

Remember that the preciseness of the cut is man's job. He has to bring out the beauty that nature has provided, but hidden, within the rough diamond. So, where nature lays the groundwork, man builds the finished product. Only a small percentage of diamonds are cut to absolute perfection, the reason being that there is a greater amount of weight loss from the rough. Most diamond cutters work to save more weight, rather that to bring out the ultimate amount of beauty. You have to understand the following in respect to weight and price... If the same rough weighing 2.00 carats were cut to preserve weight, it could end up a 1.00 carat or more, versus a 0.80 carat that was cut to ideal proportions. The two diamonds would cost the same amount of money, and might well look about the same size. But, the smaller diamond would be more lively, with more scintillation and brilliance.
